Salsa is a dance and musical genre with deep Caribbean and African roots. It's very popular in all Latin America, and among Latin communities. In recent years, this dance has gained popularity in Europe and in Asia. 

The Salsa rhythm is widely recognised for being fun, sensual, and a very social style of dance.  

Since the late 1990s ‘Salsa

The Salsa rhythm is widely recognised for being fun, sensual, and a very social style of dance.  

Since the late 1990s ‘Salsa’ has been used as a name to  describe many styles of Salsa. But before that, the word ‘Salsa’, was coined in the 1960s by the Fania Records production team to promote Latin music to the rest of the non-Latin world, it was a loose phrase to describe Latin American music. It included other rhythms such as Cha Cha Cha, Guaguanco, Mambo and Son.

HIP HOP is thought to have officially begun in New York City during the late 1960s and early 70s. During this time, individuals with no professional dance training but with a natural instinct for movement brought dancing to the streets. A dance form that was created by mixing cultures and art movements from African, Latin and Caribbean Am

HIP HOP is thought to have officially begun in New York City during the late 1960s and early 70s. During this time, individuals with no professional dance training but with a natural instinct for movement brought dancing to the streets. A dance form that was created by mixing cultures and art movements from African, Latin and Caribbean Americans from the bronx in New York. This became popular worldwide from it's introduction in Movies, as well as through tours like the New York City Rap and Wild Style Tours, which showed off the new culture and dance styles in the 80s. Hip Hop then developed into a more freestyle dance that grew popular in clubs and parties.

Bachata is a dance that originated from the Dominican Republic and is danced to Bachata music.

It is also a partnered dance that can be led with an open or closed hold. Dominican Bachata is the original style danced with fast and fun footwork.

Modern bachata will combine both sensual movements with Dominican Bachata footwork.

Kizomba is one of the most popular genres of dance and music originating from Angola.  It is a derivative of Semba, with a mix of Kilapanda and Angolan Merengue,  and sung generally in Portuguese with a romantic flow. It was the Kimbundu (an Angolan tribe) name for a dance in Angola as early as 1894. The Kizomba dancing style is also know

With new Urban styles which combine Kizomba with Tango, Hip Hop and others becoming popular in the late 2000s.

The more modern form

KPOP is short for Korean Pop, which is a popular genre of music and dance originating in South Korea. It is influenced by styles and genres from around the world, such as experimental, rock, jazz, gospel, hip hop, R&B, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country, and classical on top of its traditional Korean music roots. The more modern form of the genre emerged with the formation of one of the earliest K-pop groups, Seo Taiji and Boys , in 1992. Their experimentation with different styles and genres of music and integration of foreign musical elements helped reshape and modernize South Korea's contemporary music scene.
